Who we are:

  • A community of organizations which, since 1979, has been helping groups through communications, co-operation, organization and funding of activities.
  • A registered not-for-profit federal charity advancing Scottish Cultural Heritage in Canada and wherever Scottish culture may be expressed.
  • A proud member of the Council of Scottish Clans and Associations (COSCA) and of Volunteer Canada.

Benefits - What we do:

  • Represent our members at Highland Games, Festivals and events while aiding the public to discover, share and celebrate our common Scottish Heritage.  Click here to see us in action at the Georgetown Highland Games
  • Publish a quarterly newsletter "An Drochaid – The Bridge" to share our stories amongst all our members and the wider public.
  • Regularly send out the Scots Canada Update email with event and member updates.
  • Provide an annual Symposium for Growth and Success as a way to share best practices amongst our membership
  • Provide a national voice for our membership and the greater Scottish diaspora. 
  • Sponsor the annual CASSOC Scottish Studies Graduate Bursary at the University of Guelph.
  • Encourage and fund member activities supporting Scottish Cultural Heritage.

Requirements for membership in Clans and Scottish Societies of Canada (CASSOC) are as follows :   

- Subject to the approval of the CASSOC Board of Directors, membership in CASSOC is open to any group that is aligned with furthering the aims and objectives of CASSOC

- Religious, political and regular military organizations shall not be admissible.  This shall not exclude from membership in CASSOC militia or regimental associations. 

- Commercial businesses that focus on related Scottish Heritage and culture may be considered, by the board, for Regular Membership on a case by case basis.
