Principal Office. The principal office of Scots of Canada (SOC) also called Scots Canada (SC) and Canadécosse, and previously known as Clans and Scottish Societies of Canada (CASSOC) is in the Province of Ontario and will be located at the address or postal address of the current Board Secretary, unless determined otherwise by the Board. SOC may have other offices, either within or outside of the Province of Ontario, as the Board of Directors may determine or as the affairs of SOC may require.   

Registered Office. SOC will maintain a registered office or offices either within or outside of the Province of Ontario, as the Board of Directors may determine or the affairs of SOC may require. The registered office may be, but need not be identical with the principal office. The address of the registered office may be changed from time to time by the Board of Directors.

Statement of the Purpose of the Corporation. The purpose of SOC is set forth in its Articles of Incorporation, as from time to time amended or restated. Namely, to advance Scottish cultural heritage whether in Canada or wherever Scottish culture may be expressed, or the Scottish diaspora exists. To foster the organization of cooperation and communication between organizations, groups, communities and individuals who are interested, associated with, or participating in Scottish culture and heritage. To support the preservation of and research into Scottish Canadian and Scottish history, culture, customs, language, sports and arts.

Mission. SOC will develop a mission statement and goals to express its purposes, vision and objectives, which will be approved by the Board of Directors, and reviewed from time to time as circumstances dictate. It will disseminate its statement of mission and goals in such manner as the Board of Directors will determine from time to time.

Effective Date. This policy is effective as of April 21, 2025 and supersedes any prior policies regarding Policies Preface.
